# Method:

01 - Line a medium bowl with plastic wrap to create a brain-shaped mold, or use a brain-shaped mold if available.
02 - In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.
03 - Add red or pink food coloring drop by drop to the marshmallow mixture, stirring until a realistic brain-like pinkish hue is achieved.
04 - Remove from heat and stir in the crispy rice cereal, mixing until evenly coated. Let cool just enough to handle safely.
05 - With buttered hands, press half the cereal mixture into the prepared mold, pressing up along the sides to create a hollow cavity in the center.
06 - Spoon the raspberry jam and coulis into the cavity, keeping it centered and away from the edges.
07 - Cover with the remaining cereal mixture, pressing gently to seal the filling inside. Shape the surface to enhance the brain-like appearance with natural ridges.
08 - Let set at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes until firm. Carefully unmold onto a serving plate.
09 - Use food coloring and a small brush to paint detailed brain cell ridges and highlight lines. Add candy eyes or sprinkles for extra spookiness before slicing.

# Insider Tips:

01 -
  • The satisfying moment when your cereal sculpture actually resembles human anatomy is weirdly thrilling
  • Guests will pretend to be horrified while secretly reaching for seconds
02 -
  • Butter your hands thoroughly before shaping or you'll end up wearing half your brain
  • The cereal mixture needs to cool slightly but still be warm enough to mold—timing is everything
03 -
  • Gel food coloring gives you more intense color with less liquid, keeping your cereal mixture from getting too soft
  • If your brain cracks while unmolding, just press the pieces back together—no one will notice once it's sliced
