Melting Witches Bark (Printable)

Swirled chocolate bark with colorful candy melts and spooky decorations for Halloween gatherings.

# What You'll Need:

→ Chocolate Base

01 - 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
02 - 1 cup white chocolate chips

→ Decorations

03 - 1/2 cup assorted colorful candy melts (green, orange, purple, etc.)
04 - 1/2 cup mini candy-coated chocolates (M&Ms or similar)
05 - 1/4 cup candy eyes
06 - 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

# Method:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the finished bark.
02 - Place semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until completely smooth and fully melted.
03 - Pour the melted semisweet chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it evenly into a rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick.
04 - In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the white chocolate chips and colorful candy melts. Microwave each in 20-second intervals, stirring between intervals, until smooth and fully melted.
05 - Drop spoonfuls of the melted white chocolate and colorful candy melts randomly over the dark chocolate base. Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the colors together, creating a marbled effect throughout the bark.
06 - Immediately sprinkle the candy-coated chocolates, candy eyes, and Halloween sprinkles generously over the warm chocolate. Press lightly to ensure they adhere to the surface.
07 - Allow the bark to set at room temperature until firm, approximately 20-30 minutes. For faster setting, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until completely hardened.
08 - Once fully set, break the bark into irregular, rustic-sized pieces. Arrange on a serving platter and enjoy.

# Insider Tips:

01 -
  • The process is ridiculously fun and watching the colors swirl never gets old
  • Kids go absolutely wild for the candy eyes staring back at them
  • You can customize the decorations based on whatever candies you have on hand
02 -
  • Work quickly once you start swirling because the chocolate begins setting fast
  • Overheating chocolate will make it seize and turn into a grainy mess
  • The candy eyes are surprisingly heavy so press them gently into the warm chocolate
03 -
  • Use a skewer instead of a toothpick for easier swirling without straining your fingers
  • Have all decorations ready before you start melting anything
  • Work in small batches if you want multiple color schemes
